Rules of game
The aim of Kaunto is to arrange numbers on a playing field in a way that all the given rules are fulfilled. These rules are different for each puzzle. The numbers used can also differ for each puzzle.
The rules determine which numbers may be where on the playing field. One rule could therefore be that only odd numbers may be in the second row.
If several rules are assigned to a position, the number placed there must fulfill all the rules for this position. If one rule states that only even numbers are allowed in a position and a second rule states that only prime numbers are allowed, then the only possible number is 2, as this is the only even prime number.
Rules always apply to a specific combination of fields. This can be rows, columns, diagonals or any other combination. All fields of such a field combination are highlighted in color.
The numbers to be placed are given and can differ for each puzzle. There are always 9 numbers given, corresponding to the 9 squares of the playing field. Each of the given numbers must be placed exactly once on the playing field.
